Welcome!

Project Approach Connections is a community for sharing and connecting knowledge of current Project Approach practitioners with families, communities, and educators.

The project approach is an organized approach to curriculum through an investigation of a topic guided by student interest.

What is the Project Approach?

Building Project  - Tarkington Elementary

“Project approach is a great way for students to learn. They explore the possibilities on how to solve their own problems with discussion and modeling their thinking.”

— Edith Ortigoza, Kindergarten bilingual teacher

Why do project work?

Project work helps children develop mind and brain capacity while bringing together families and the community.

“In the past, the teachers created the web and that was it we went from there. This time we included the children ideas on the final web that went up in our room. I learned that children can contribute to the learning process and make sound decisions. I saw my students taking responsibility for their own learning and staying on task.”

-Caroline Evans, Head Start Teacher
